Modi's Red Fort Address: A Resolute Vision for "Naya Bharat" Amidst Geopolitical Shifts
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his record-breaking 103-minute address from the ramparts of the Red Fort on India's 79th Independence Day, laid out a comprehensive blueprint for a "Naya Bharat" (New India), emphasizing self-reliance, economic transformation, and an uncompromising stance on national security. His speech, delivered on August 15, 2025, underscored a pivotal moment in India's trajectory, marked by significant policy announcements and firm geopolitical declarations.
Economically, the Prime Minister unveiled a series of "next-generation" reforms designed to bolster growth and provide direct relief to citizens. A landmark announcement was the "zero tax for annual income up to Rs 12 lakh," a measure aimed at providing substantial relief to taxpayers. Furthermore, Modi promised a "Diwali gift" with upcoming Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms set to reduce taxes on essential goods, benefiting MSMEs, local vendors, and consumers.
